Advanced Algebra 2

This course is designed to meet the requirements as one of the three math credits for college bound students. This class has a strong workload in order to obtain all the required concepts needed for College Algebra and ACT. Advanced Algebra is a continuation of concepts learned in Algebra, including real number properties, solving equations and inequalities, matrices, polynomials, factoring of polynomials, graphing, systems of equations and inequalities, radical and rational expressions/equations, direct and inverse variation, analytic geometry, and various functions including linear, quadratic, exponential, polynomial, trigonometric and logarithmic functions. This course will be taught through online quizzes after each lesson to ensure knowledge content and through graphing calculator applications for TI-84 plus or TI-84 plus silver edition.

The online resources in this course will start to prepare students for college classes that require online homework, quizzes, and tests. The graphing calculator will help prepare for college classes requiring the graphing calculator, but also prepare students how to use the calculator for the ACT test. Calculators TI-83 plus does NOT work with some apps, and TI-84 plus C does NOT work with some of the programs.

This class requires the student to show all work, parent/student to GRADE all assignments, and student to rework missed problems with work in order to receive a completion grade. Missing work is only accepted up to two weeks late with points off. (1 week late = 25% off, 2 weeks late = 50% off, after two weeks, a zero will be given.)
